The StandDown is an annual event held in San Diego where local charities set up tents to help homeless veterens with services such as medical, dental, hygene, bedding, etc… My story was focused on the expected surge in Iraq War veterens that will become homeless due to psychological and physical effects from this conflict. This was Blair, she was in the Navy during the war and was discharged and soon became homeless. She has a kid and is trying to find employment but has been forced to live on the streets. Although I saw very few from our current war, I’m most sure we’ll be seeing them showing-up at homeless centers in the very near future. Hopefully the government will help take care of these folks.

Some nice PJ work Sandy. It's a bit disheartening to hear that Veterans are homeless but modern day Veterans being homeless? We've had a few wars to get it right so that Veterans have better lives postwar.
